Best practices on OER use and adaptation from OpenScout

The OpenScout project has published a collection of best practices for the usage and adaptation of learning materials targeted not only to Business & Management but as well to the entire OER domain. This guide will help you understand how you can benefit from OER and learn necessary things to be taken in to account while adapting materials for your own needs.

OpenScout launches Special Interest Group in partnership with EATEL

eatel_web_200We are proud to announce that the OpenScout project has launched the Special Interest Group (SIG) Open Content for Business and Management in partnership with the European Association of Technology Enhanced Learning (EATEL). The main goal of the SIG is to drive and promote Open Education for the Business and Management play casino online domain. The SIG maintains and extends the successful portal, user community and services of OpenScout and aims at being the single access point for people engaged in this field.

UNESCO adopts OER recommendations

UNESCO adopts OER recommendations: The Paris OER Declaration Explained - The OER World Congress organized by UNESCO has adopted the Paris OER Declaration in June 2012. The Declaration shows the importance of Open Educational Resources and gives recommendations to governments and institutions around the globe. OpenScout has contributed to the declaration with a focus on international aspect of OER.

UNESCO/OpenScout workshop at WSIS 2012: Recommendations for Policy Makers and Adopters

On May 16th 2012, UNESCO and OpenScout organized a workshop on "Internationalization of OER" at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva. The WSIS Forum 2012 is co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP and was the world's largest annual gathering of the 'ICT for development' community. The workshop came up with a vision statement and 10 recomendations for the OER community.

The OpenScout project is currently working towards a final version of the OpenScout portal. We therefore invite you to give us your opinions and impressions of the site so that we can make it even more adapted to your needs. The 3-minute feedback form allows you to express a brief comment on the portal functions you have already used, such as looking for resources or interacting via the community function. The 10-minute questionnaire is used for our large scale trials and allows you to give more detailed feedback.
